New Zealand's most experienced aerial whale-watching company, Kaikoura Helicopters is the only helicopter operator in the world to view Sperm Whales twelve months of the year.
Whale-watching by helicopter began in Kaikoura in the Summer of 1991 and since that time, more and more visitors have viewed whales from the air.
Travellers are often restricted by time and the accessiblity to go where they want to go and see what they want to see. Flying is both comfortable and affordable and with the ability to hover, land and go places quickly, a helicopter is the only way to experience the wonderful land and sea scapes of Kaikoura.
These abilities also enable Kaikoura Helicopters to provide film crew and photographers with unmatched opportunities for still or moving film shots. To date a number of film crews worldwide have successfully flown with us.
Your safety and comfort is paramount when flying with us. All aircraft are fully equipped with pop-out floats, life raft and life vests. As most flights take you over water, all pilots have undertaken the Helicopter Underwater Evacuation Technique (HUET) water course (updated every 24 months) and are knowledgable in every aspect of Kaikoura's marine mammals and their environment.
We strive to give all passengers a first class, affordable plus informative introduction to the Sperm Whales of Kaikoura and their surrounding environment.
We look forward to seeing you sometime soon at our office and heli-pad centrally located next to the Railway station - just five minutes walk from the Kaikoura Town Centre.
